The Omaha Community Playhouse


The Omaha Community Playhouse is a local performing arts center that involves live theatre and other educational opportunities. OCP opened in 1959 and has impacted the Omaha area in a very positive way. It provides classes and plays which have enriched the arts in the Omaha Metro area. It also includes The Nebraska Theatre Caravan which is known throughout Nebraska as well as the United States. It is the professional group that travels throughout the United States networking and entertaining different communities. It enhances the love of performing arts across the United States and beyond. The Omaha Community Playhouse is known for it’s excellent vision statement including diversity, community, and education.

Although the Omaha Community Playhouse has faced many challenges due to Covid-19, it has still remained active throughout Omaha. It’s very first drive-in production was in June and over 6000 members of the Omaha community attended. OCP also included free online streaming events for people to enjoy in the safety of their own homes.

It has now reopened and CDC guidelines are in place for the safety of the Omaha area. Tickets are now on sale for the productions including: The Drawer Boy, Constellations, Ain’t Misbehavin’, and Gutenberg! The Musical! Make sure to get your tickets as soon as possible.
