Sport Cancellations

Last week and weekend were full of games and matches. Sadly everything was cancelled. JV Tennis was cancelled on Friday. JV soccer was also cancelled Friday.  Varsity track opted out of the Wahoo invite on Saturday.

Track had no choice other than to opt out of the meet. Track did not have enough girls for their events. Without enough girls they couldn’t fill their events and couldn’t participate. The reason track didn’t have most of their girls was because of the ACT.

JV Tennis was scheduled to play at 4:00 at Elkhorn South. The match was canceled due to the weather. It was a beautiful day up until 3:30 when it started to rain. JV tennis has not had that many matches, but hopefully the weather stays nice so the girls can continue to play without any cancellations.

JV soccer was also cancelled Friday due to the poor weather. The temperature dropped after it rained to the the mid thirties, so that was another reason why the game was cancelled. JV soccer was scheduled to play Bennington at 5, at Bennington. JV soccer has been playing really well.

This week varsity track is currently scheduled to have a meet at Bennington on Tuesday at 2:00, JV track is scheduled to have a meet at the Wahoo invite Tuesday at 4:00. JV tennis had a match Monday against Gross at Dewy park. Varsity tennis is scheduled to have a match vs. Omaha North at Orchard park at 4:00. The Mercy soccer tournament is this week and varsity plays at 7:30 Tuesday at College of Saint Mary’s. Hopefully you can make it out to one off those events to show your Monarch pride and cheer on Mercy!

In all, last weekend was pretty sad for Mercy’s sports. Hopefully this week we get to participate in  all the meets, matches, and games that are scheduled. The weather has been going great with no rain other than Tuesday, high temps around the seventies and eighties towards the end of the week.
