With Prom around the corner, many juniors and seniors are wondering what to expect this year. This is an exciting time for everyone attending prom, and many are planning their outfits, dinner plans, and dance moves for this big event on April 6.
This year, the prom theme was announced during the PA (prom announcement) play preformed by the juniors. With the play being Grease, the theme should reflect a different and exciting time period. Although students are free to wear modern dresses and modern songs are played, the decorations and centerpieces are all going to enforce the theme of prom.
To get more of an idea on how prom will go this year, I talked to Mrs. Klein, teacher and Academic Success coordinator, who doubles as the lead planner of prom. She has been planning this prom since last spring when she booked Field Club for the venue. Prom has been at Field Club for the past 8 years. She then works very hard after PA to make invitations and get decorations ordered and up. Mrs. Klein shared with me that she loves this job so much because in her other life, she would enjoy to be an event coordinator. She is definitely good at setting up decorations and is excited to get all of the 50s decor ready for this year. She said that one new element of prom is going to be a fry bar, french fries with multiple dips and toppings. This has been a topic of conversation among students for weeks and her confirming this made a lot of students excited for this elegant night.
Prom should be a night for all of the juniors and seniors to remember. Hopefully everyone will come together as the Grease cast did and get into the prom spirit!
