The Hahn-Mergens Wedding

According to TripSavvy, 2.4 million weddings are performed every year in the United States. Ms. Hahn, one of our wonderful math teachers here at Mercy High School is going to be one of those 2.4 million very soon.

Ms. Hahn will be marrying Mr. Mergens over spring break. She said, “We met in December of 2017 thanks to the matchmaking skills of Ms. Regele. Our first date was at Dario’s in Dundee.” The wedding ceremony will take place at Holy Cross and the reception will be at Founders One Nine. Her main theme colors for her wedding are navy and silver, so her bridesmaids will be in navy dresses and her groomsmen in gray suits. Ms. Hahn also included the colors white and plum in the flower arrangements to celebrate the beginning of Lent.

“Each day is a step we take towards eternity and we shall continue thus to step from day to day until we take the last step, which will bring us into the presence of God.” -Mother McAuley

When it comes to special songs, Ms. Hahn chose a song that is close to all of our hearts. She said, “All three of my aunts are singing for the ceremony, which I think is pretty special.  We plan to have them sing the Suscipe during the lighting of the unity candle, too.”

Ms. Hahn is expecting around 200-225 people at her wedding. When it comes to a honeymoon, Ms. Hahn said, “We aren’t taking a traditional honeymoon because I am helping chaperone the trip to Europe this summer and Justin signed up to go with me.  We thought that was a good substitute for a honeymoon and are really looking forward to the trip.”

Everyone is so excited and happy for Ms. Hahn and Mr. Mergens. Freshman Alice Long, said, “I think it’s wonderful that Ms. Hahn is getting married, I hope this marriage brings her lots of happiness and joy.”
