Senior Lexi Rains is social media coordinator for Student Council this year! I asked her a few questions about her position and Spirit Week.
Q: What does your job as social media coordinator include?
A: Social media coordinator means that I basically just run the twitter account and post reminders for the student body. It’s the most accessible way to reach a majority of the students and send out reminders!
Q: How many hours has Student Council put into planning Spirit Week?
A: I can’t give you a solid number but we start planning for Spirit Week several weeks in advance because there’s so much that goes into it. All of our members easily put in several hours worth of work outside of our scheduled meeting days.
Q: Does Student Council have separate ‘committees’ that plan different aspects of Spirit Week or does everyone work together on everything?
A: We have separate committees, but often times members jump in to help other committees as needed because we work best when we work together. But having the committees gives everyone a main focus and helps us keep track of what needs to be done!
Q: What theme/day are you looking forward to the most?
A: I’m looking forward to House Salad Friday because I love showing off my Mercy spirit.
Q: What’s your favorite part of Spirit Week and why?
A: My favorite part is definitely class dances! Our class may not be the most coordinated but I love watching the other classes perform their dances too and it’s nice to have such a fun and carefree time with the whole school!
