My name is Claire Fink. I am starting my senior year at Mercy High this year. I am very excited to be part of the staff for Mercy’s online newspaper. Two of my favorite things academically are writing and art/design, and through this newspaper I can highlight those interests. Outside of school, I enjoy playing tennis in the spring, being a part of the Operation Others Core Team, and participating in Mercy’s Art Club. I hope to make the most out of my senior year by continuing in these activities and maybe trying some new ones!
After Mercy, I plan on studying nursing in college. From there I hope to become a labor and delivery or NICU nurse. I’ve also considered minoring in art or French. As of right now I am looking at a few colleges, but my favorite is Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. Faith is another important aspect in my life, and I hope to grow stronger in my faith through college, and I believe Benedictine would be a great place for that.
Throughout my journey of high school, I have learned a lot about myself and have been able to break out of my shell. I found a great group of friends that have become more like sisters to me. I’ve discovered new interests that I had never explored before. I’ve been able to actively live out my faith without being judged. Overall I’m very thankful to start this chapter of my life and again I’m so excited to be a part of Mercy’s online newspaper staff!
