The Best Advent Angel Gifts for Your Budget

The end of Thanksgiving Break means the start of the Christmas season and, more importantly, the beginning of Mercy’s Advent Angel gift exchange. This is always a fun time to remember the reason for the Christmas season by focusing on giving rather than receiving. However, when you don’t have a lot of extra money to spare for Advent Angel gifts, this tradition can seem a bit overwhelming. Never fear, though, because you don’t have to break your bank account in order to spread joy this Christmas season! Here are the best Advent Angel gifts to fit your budget . . .

1. Socks

Socks are a go-to gift for any holiday gift exchange, and Mercy’s is no exception. While it may seem boring to give your Advent Angel a pair of socks, this is actually one of the best gifts you could give! During the winter season, everybody could use an extra pair of cute fuzzy socks, so stores usually have a variety to choose from. At Target, there is a huge selection of Christmas socks, ranging from $1 to $4, so you can warm your Advent Angel’s heart (and feet) while saving money. With this gift idea, you are sure to rock your Advent Angel’s socks off!

2. Christmas decorations

In high school, it can be hard to find time to prepare for Christmas celebrations while juggling schoolwork with activities. Help your Advent Angel find her holly jolly spirit this year by decorating her locker with Christmas decorations! Check out Target’s dollar section; they just brought out all of their Christmas decorations and have tons of cute magnets, chalkboards, and mini buckets that are perfect for locker decorating! The best part about this is that everything is just a dollar, so you can buy a lot for your Advent Angel without spending too much. This is also one of the best ways to get your Advent Angel into the Christmas spirit!

3. Food!!!

Mercy girls love food, so make sure to get your event Angel some snacks during the course of these next few weeks. Buy a couple bags of fun size candy, and give your Advent Angel a handful every so often. This is a great way to let her know you’re thinking of her without having to do anything big. If you have some extra time and want to go all out, make your Advent Angel some cookies too!

4. Nice notes

It costs nothing to leave your Advent Angel a nice note in her locker every so often, and this is probably the most thoughtful gift you could give. Find some cute paper and write a message to your Advent Angel, either complimenting her or telling her you’re keeping her in your prayers. After all, the main point of this gift exchange is to brighten your Advent Angel’s day, and this is the best way to spread cheer!

5. Coffee

The weeks leading up to finals can be very stressful, and sometimes studying results in loss of sleep. Coffee is key in getting your Advent Angel through this busy time! Even though a small coffee from Scooter’s or Starbucks can be a bit expensive (usually about $4), it is totally worth it! If you have spare time in the morning, stop at a coffee shop before school to leave a warm surprise in your Advent Angel’s locker.

6. Gift cards

It can be hard to figure out what to give your Advent Angel for the final gift, but gift cards are always a great choice! The final gift has to be $15, so consider getting your Advent Angel a gift card to her favorite restaurant or store. Starbucks, Scooter’s, and Target are popular places to buy gift cards from if you’re not sure what stores your Advent Angel likes. By giving your Advent Angel a gift card, you ensure that she’ll be able to get good use out of your final gift. Sometimes just giving a gift card can be boring, though, so consider getting your Advent Angel a $10 gift card along with something small and inexpensive, like a cute coffee mug or some candy.

Participating in the Advent Angels gift exchange doesn’t have to mean spending a ton of money. It truly is the thought that counts the most, so spend some time figuring out how to make this Christmas season the best one yet for your Advent Angel and you can’t go wrong!
