This week is one packed with many competitions and fun events. Many students will be enjoying field trips, lunches, and singing. Read here to find out what the students and faculty of Mercy High will be doing the next few days.
Monday, December 3
Today is a regular schedule with a field trip for the ecology students. Ms. Umstead and the students in ecology will be going to the zoo to study animals and plants. The clubs meeting after school are Show Choir, Pro Life, Walking Club, and Math Club.
Tuesday, December 4
The freshmen basketball team will be competing at Elkhorn South at 6:00. Jv and Varsity are competing at Skutt also at 6:00. During the school day, the juniors will be meeting with their sister mentors to discuss pressing issues of today’s world.
Wednesday, December 5
The cold weather gear drive items are being collected in the library. All items collected will go to the victims of human trafficking. Auditions for solos and small groups for the Christmas Concert will be taking place after school in the music room.
Thursday, December 6
A prayer service will be held after 4th hour to kick off the advent season. Mrs. McGill and Sister Delores will be hosting a lunch and learn to educate parents and prospective Mercy students about the school and our customs. The freshmen basketball team will be playing at 6:00 at Elkhorn. Jv and Varsity will be playing at Platteview at 5:45 and 7:30.
Friday, December 7
Mercy High Singers will be performing at Mercy Villa and New Cassel in the morning and the afternoon. Student Ambassadors will be having lunch in Franey Hall to celebrate their hard work the past semester. Clubs meeting after school are Drama, Divina, and Golden Girls
Saturday, December 8
Swim team will be competing at the Bryan Invite at 8:00 am. The ACT test is in the morning in locations all throughout the metro. From 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Mrs. Graff and Show Choir will be hosting a middle school camp for students interested in high school show choir. They will have a concert at 3:30. Speech team has a tournament at Prep. Good luck to the swimmers and speech team! Also, don’t forget to study for the ACT!
