Last weekend was the final Mercy theatre season production. They ended the season with the show “Pride & Prejudice.” Essentially the show is about the Bennet family which consists of a loving father, a “gold digging” mother, and five young ladies who are looking for Mr.Right. The cast consisted of eight Mercy senior actors, two male senior actors, and three senior tech crew members plus several underclasswomen.
Although there is not technically a lead role, the role with the most lines was “Elizabeth Bennet” who was played by senior Faye Davis . As a couple of her sisters are finding love, she seems to be running away from it. Eventually Mr.Darcy, played by senior Patrick Render from Central High School, shows to have an interest in her.
Couples Spoiler Alert! Elizabeth Bennet’s sisters include Lydia Bennet, played by Brett Comstock who marries Mr.Wickham, played by Patrick Render, Jane Bennet, played by Claire Kendall who marries Mr.Bingley, played by Adam Fulbright, Marry Bennet, played by Addie Costello, and Catherine Bennet, played by Audra Pflug.
Together they are in Longbourn and learning about what love really means to them. This was also current director, Mrs.Dashner’s, last show. She will be leaving Mercy High School to spend more time with her grandchildren. It does take quite some time to prepare a show and she would like a little more free time.
Although this was the last production put on by the theatre program, there will be one more this year. Honors Theatre will be putting on one final show that will be performed around the end of April. Make sure that you don’t miss it!
